Hi, I’m Anne, an award winning portrait photographer with 18 years experience in the industry, based in Braintree, Essex. At home you’ll usually find me with my partner, our amazing three year old, and our two very Excitable French bulldogs, who are absolutely convinced they’re in charge of the house!

Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in the days of film cameras, surrounded by photo albums and envelopes overflowing with prints. As a child, I could spend hours flicking through them, completely fascinated by the real, raw moments captured inside. Those slightly imperfect, emotional snapshots sparked a love of photography that has stayed with me ever since.

That passion eventually led me to university, where I studied photography in more depth, right at the time when the industry was shifting from film to digital. During my studies, I created lots of projects focused around people, and that’s when I truly fell in love with portraiture. There’s something incredibly powerful about capturing someone exactly as they are in a single moment in time.

After graduating, I quickly found my place working as a portrait photographer, and nearly two decades later, I’m still lucky enough to call it my job. For the past 18 years, I’ve had the privilege of photographing some of life’s most meaningful moments: a baby’s first smile, the laughter between siblings, and the special connection within a family. Seeing the emotion on people’s faces when they view their photos for the first time never gets old. Those images become memories families treasure for a lifetime, and being part of that is truly priceless.

Along the way, I’ve also been lucky enough to travel. I spent a year exploring America, Fiji, Australia, and New Zealand, and I’ve taken many trips to Thailand and across Europe too. My camera was never far from my hand, and those adventures shaped the way I see light, people, and fleeting moments, something that still influences my photography today.

People often describe me as chatty, bubbly, patient and fun (with a bit of a cool sense of style thrown in too!). I like to think that energy carries through into my sessions. My goal is always to create a relaxed, enjoyable experience where everyone feels comfortable enough to be themselves… because that’s when the most beautiful, natural portraits happen.
